Register now for APHA's Youth Horsemanship Camp
We’re looking for European AjPHA members who want to grow their horsemanship skills and make memories of a lifetime at APHA’s inaugural Youth Horsemanship Camp (YHC), held July 26-28 at the Parc du Cheval Rhône-Alpes in Chazey-sur-Ain, France. Complete details and the registration form are now available in French, English, German and Italian.

The three-day clinic, led by renown APHA judge Butch Carse of Davenport, Florida, is jointly sponsored by the APHA and the France Paint Horse Association. Translators will be available for French, German and Italian-speaking participants. Registration is open to AjPHA members and horses of all breeds but is limited to 24 participants. The deadline to register is May 15, 2011.

The 280 € registration fee includes the clinic, one box stall, daily lunches for the participant and wire transfer fees. In addition, YHC participants who wish to test their new skills in competition can enter Youth classes for free at the two-judge APHA-approved show that weekend, and continue learning during a free one-day clinic with judges Karen Banister and Sandy Jirkovsky. The registration fee does not include lodging, breakfasts and dinners, tack stalls, or meals for parents or guardians.

Chazey-sur-Ain is conveniently located in the Rhône Valley, just outside Lyon, France. Lyon is just 90 minutes from Geneva, Switzerland, three hours from Turin, Italy, and six hours from Stuttgart, Germany. Although on-site camping is limited, there is a wide variety of lodging available in the area, including a campground, cottages and a hotel.
